Looking for penpals?

There are hundreds of websites that feature penpal ads nowadays and I’ve tried several of them in the past. Some of them are better than others, but I’ve always thought that something was missing. And isn’t it slightly ironic to search for SNAIL MAIL pals on the Internet anyway?!

Well, I’ve fixed this problem: on my blog, the penpal ads will be handwritten! Or typed, for those of you who swing that way… But you will have to mail your ad to me. Then, I’ll put it up on my blog so that everyone can see how wonderful you are and I’m hoping that it will allow for better matches between potential penpals.

So grab a sheet of paper (or two, or three), write your penpal ad and send it to:

Address Penpal Ads

Please use paper that’s SMALLER than A4 or letter size (A5 would be the most appropriate size), but feel free to send as many pages as you’d like. Also, please remember to write your postal address or email address in your ad so that people who are interested in becoming penpals can easily get in touch with you.

This will be fun! Now get writing…

  2. Thank you Marina! Will you do it? ;)

  3. Hey Julie,

    this is a great idea!

    I would love to participate.
Do you also accept those handwritten ads by email. It would be easier for to scan it in and send it to you by mail.

    Have a nice weekend,
    Melanie from Germany

  4. Hello Melanie!

I understand that it might be easier to scan the letter, but the point is to do things differently and actually send the ads by snail mail! :) I’d also like to post pictures of the envelopes, etc.

I still hope to see you participate!

    Have a great weekend too!

Hello!

My name is Julie and I'm 37.
I'm French Canadian and fell
in love with an American,
so I'm now living in Vermont
with my wife.

I write letters, I love stationery and I have a handwriting fetish. I often eat sushi, still feel like I'm 16 and only wear skirts & dresses (with colorful tights when it's cold).

I'm happier with a mind full of ideas, a mailbox full of letters from my penpals, a shop full of stationery, a house full of pens and a day full of hugs.

This is me with my wife,
Denise. We met through the
League of Extraordinary
Penpals and are living
happily ever after in the
Stationery Kingdom.

Denise blogs here too and is
the one in charge of the
social media: Facebook,
Twitter and Pinterest.

She's 40 years old,
from South Dakota,
and in love with me, washi
tape & imperial rolls.
