My name is Jessie and I live in Alabama. I’m 13 years old! I have a twin brother which I am one minute older than! I have 3 cats, a dog, and a hampster.

I play tennis for my school team and I love to write. I like to read but only books that I pick out. I can make any situation fun no matter what! I love to ride horses and swim!

How long have you been penpalling? How did you first start? Tell us about your first penpal!
I’ve been penpalling for about a year and a half now. I first got into penpalling because my friend had told me about her penpal from another country, so I wanted to try penpalling too!
My first penpal was a girl from Paris, France! Her name was Carmen and she was 13 too. She also taught me a lot of French words to say!
How many penpals do you have now and where are they from?
I have only one penpal right now and it’s Carmen. A lot of my penpals will just come and go but Carmen always stays! I love Carmen because it feels like we have grown up together! Carmen and I can talk about anything anytime!
I did have a penpal from India. Her name was Mary but she moved and we lost connection.

What are your favorite topics to discuss in letters?
I really will talk about anything! I love when people are honest though because it makes me feel like they really care about writing to me. I guess it really depends on the person I’m writing to! :)
What are you looking for in a penpal?
I’m just looking for anyone around my age (or any age!) that would want to talk about their life or their problems or anything! Just a long distance friend! (:

What do you like the most about penpalling?
I like that feeling you get when you get a letter from your penpal! Also how it feels like when that person is standing right next talking to you instead of half way around the world! (:
In what language(s) do you correspond?
I correspond in english but I can speak some french!
What are some of your habits in regards to letter writing?
I have to write in pen but sometimes I’ll use pencil. I also have to use a cute kind of paper. I think regular paper takes the fun out of penpalling. I have to write in my room where it is quiet. It takes me a while to write back because I tend to write a lot.

Has anything strange/funny ever happened to you since you’ve been penpalling?
No, nothing strange or funny has ever happened to me since I’ve been penpalling. I guess that’s good! :)
Have you met any of your penpals?
Yes! I met Carmen one summer and we went all trough Paris! We saw the Eiffel Tower and the Arch of Triumph! That was one of my best summers! :)
Are you currently looking for more penpals?
