Cupcakes

Here’s a penpal ad by a girl who lives very close to me!

If you’re looking for a penpal from Qu├ębec, Veronik is your girl! And she draws cute characters + cupcakes on her envelopes, so surely that’s a sign of how fabulous she is…

Speaking of cupcakes, I bought some at the grocery store tonight and they were soooo sweet that it was really disgusting. I gave half of mine to Martin, who also thought that it was sickeningly sweet. Louis-Justin loved his though! I prefer homemade cupcakes… Does anyone have good cupcake recipes to share?

  1. Veronik’s stationery is so pretty!

Julie, I don’t have a cupcake recipe but I do have a tip for you. Next time you make cake or cupcakes, just use a cake mix from the grocery store but make your own frosting. Basic frosting is really easy to make and it tastes so much better than store bought frosting. It’s so easy but it really makes a huge difference! You can find tons of recipes for it, but basic frosting is really just butter, confectioners sugar, vanilla extract and a little milk.

    Now I want a cupcake! :)

  2. Oh yes, just the frosting makes a huge difference! I like to make mine with cream cheese… Yum!

Hello!

My name is Julie and I'm 37.
I'm French Canadian and fell
in love with an American,
so I'm now living in Vermont
with my wife.

I write letters, I love stationery and I have a handwriting fetish. I often eat sushi, still feel like I'm 16 and only wear skirts & dresses (with colorful tights when it's cold).

I'm happier with a mind full of ideas, a mailbox full of letters from my penpals, a shop full of stationery, a house full of pens and a day full of hugs.

This is me with my wife,
Denise. We met through the
League of Extraordinary
Penpals and are living
happily ever after in the
Stationery Kingdom.

Denise blogs here too and is
the one in charge of the

Twitter and Pinterest.

She's 40 years old,
from South Dakota,
and in love with me, washi
tape & imperial rolls.
