A tour of my city
Louis-Justin, Martin and I spent an afternoon walking around the city recently and I took several pictures, so let me show you St-Jean-sur-Richelieu!
Getting out of the apartment and getting into my car.

Parking the car downtown, next to some railroad tracks…

One of the most important buildings around here: the post office!

Louis-Justin taking pictures with his Nintendo DSi.

Our courthouse…

Gorgeous autumn leaves!

Antiques on the side of the road.

One of the libraries in St-Jean (there are 3 of them) and the park nearby.

I spotted some pretty mailboxes – I was so excited!

More railroad tracks…

Ugly statue in front of City Hall.

Small cruise boat on the Richelieu River.
(We went on that cruise with Louis-Justin for his birthday this year!)

The Richelieu River…

Walking on the Chambly Canal.

Railroad bridge…

Fairies in the water?!

Going back to the car…

Bye bye St-Jean-sur-Richelieu!
I hope you enjoyed discovering parts of my city…

Trés jolies photos Julie, j’aime particulierement celles de la rivière et le long du canal! Je ne connais pas du tout le Canada, St Jean-sur-Richelieu a l’air d’être une belle ville :D
Wow Julie, thanks for taking us with you in this walk in your town! It really seem to be a lovely place tp place in! As much as I love big cities, I’m so envious of all the nature you have around you! xx Fab
TYPOS! I obviously meant: *seems to be a lovely place to live in. Sorry :/
Merci Angélique & thank you Fab!
Around 90 000 people live in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu so I think it’s just the perfect size! Not too big but not too small…
Wow, it’s a lovely place. I really like seeing your pics. And I’ve been taking pics of mailboxes around here too, I’ll post them soon. :)
Yay Penny, mailbox pictures are fun!
I have a friend who used to live in Chambly and we would go along the canal. Beautiful.
Gorgeous mailboxes!
Beautiful photos Julie! Very quaint and picturesque! And your post office is HUGE…ours is much smaller! ;) Love the mailbox photos.
I love your city! It’s very “nature-y” haha! I wish cities in our country were more like yours! AND I so love the mailboxes you saw, I hardly ever see any beautiful or unique mailboxes around here.
P.S.
Just wanna ask, did you send the mail as a parcel or ordinary mail? It still hasn’t arrived :(
Bernadine, the envelope was mailed via letter-post since it was under 100 grams but it’s automatically sent via air mail, so I don’t understand why it’s taking so long to reach you…
Julie you live in such a pretty place!!!!!!
TOTALLY different than MIAMI!
PS: PLEASE CONVO ME ON ETSY ASAP I HAVE AN EMERGENCY REGARDING MY RECENT ORDER! I GAVE YOU A BAD ADDRESS !!!!! PLEASE MESSAGE ME ASAP! Thanks!!!
I just really hope that the post office is just rounding up my mail.. because I think the mailman mentioned it before that he collects the mail for a while before he delivers it. Will let you know :)
Yanill: Done!
Bernadine: Really?! That’s so strange! Here we get our mail delivered every day even if we only get a flyer… I hope you’ll get my letter soon!
Julie, I especially like the first photo of Louis-Justin on the railroad tracks. He’s getting so big. :o :)
Thank you Tasha! Yes, my baby has turned into a big boy it seems… :)
I don’t really get it also! haha! I think to save travel money? I just hope they get all my mail delivered! I would even offer rummaging through the post office for all my mail if I was allowed to! :))
I used to live along the NY/Canada border, and the closest city was Ottawa with Montreal and Syracuse (NY) in second place. I should have spent more time outside of Montreal on my trips there – it’s gorgeous!
