Calling out nerds!

Before I show you today’s awesome penpal ad, I have a quick announcement to make: half of the stationery packs have been sold, but you still have a chance to grab one of the remaining 11 packs here!

And now on to the penpal ad… It comes from a lovely girl named Sofie who lives in Sweden and who sent me her top 10 quirks last year.

I can attest to the fact that Sofie writes long, interesting letters as I received a 28 page letter from her today. Thank you, my dear!

Sofie–you sound like a really lovely lady! I hope you find some great new friends here! :)

  2. Ooh, thank you for posting this Julie dear!
(I always find it weird to see my handwriting on a screen. Maybe it’s the same phenomena as hearing once own voice recorded?)

I’m glad my memoirs/letter reached you. :) How did the envelope hold up against the brutal force of the post system?

Thank you Christina, maybe some person out there dare to write me. That would be awesome!

  3. Sofie, I’m sure you’ll get lots of replies! How can anyone not notice your awesomeness?! ;)

And your envelope arrived without a single tear, thankfully! It was lovely. I’ll post pictures on my blog soon!

  4. Sofie, we’ve been studying the same things! Although I’ve been doing my learning halfway across the world from you, in Australia! I’d love to write to you and discuss all things art and archaeology :)

  5. Flick: Oh wow, a fellow archaeologist and art student from Australia?! I’ve never had a penpal from there, and I must confess that I don’t know much about your archaeology and art traditions since my studies have been focused mainly on Europe, and in some extent America. I can’t wait to pick your brain. Write me! :D

Julie: Haha, maybe my awesomeness is too much to handle for some?
I’m glad the envelope hadn’t fallen into pieces on its way over the Atlantic! I have never tried one of those before, so you were my test object. I guess you don’t mind since it all ended well and without the drama of lost letter pages :)

  6. Yes, all is fine now that your fat envelope has reached me! :) Only 2 of my letters have ever been lost (that I know of) and one of them was a 44 page letter to a friend I hadn’t heard of in over a year :( I still haven’t really gotten over that, honestly… Which is probably why I always use a shitload of tape on my envelopes now!

  7. That is so frustrating!
Last Winter the post managed to lose a pair of mittens I knitted for a dear penpal in Christmas gift. That’s one I haven’t gotten over yet. -__-
But it doesn’t happen very often luckily.

  8. Oh no! How awful. Especially since you must have spent so much time on these mittens…

Hello!

My name is Julie and I'm 33.
I live in Québec (close to Montréal) and I speak French.

I write letters, I love stationery and I have a handwriting fetish. I often eat sushi, still feel like I'm 16 and only wear skirts & dresses (with colorful tights when it's cold).

I'm happier with a mind full of ideas, a mailbox full of letters from my penpals, a shop full of stationery, a house full of cats and a day full of hugs.
